psychodynamic approach

My approach

My approach to psychotherapy, which is psychodynamic psychotherapy, is founded on the psychoanalytic understanding of human behavior. Psychodynamic or psychoanalytic psychotherapy is known for its efficacy and is based on a range of psychoanalytic treatments and theories. In my work I draw from a combination of contemporary theories, such as the object relations theory, relational psychoanalysis, intersubjective theory, and attachment theory.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy entails facilitation of a deeper understanding of your mental processes and emotions. In this process, your early experiences will inevitably surface while we are addressing present concerns and challenges. These are important for us to discuss because our early experiences are carried into our adult lives mostly unconsciously; these unconscious experiences can shape our motives, behaviors, thoughts, and feelings.

Change is the goal of psychotherapy or psychoanalysis, which can come about only through developing awareness. You will have an opportunity to immerse yourself in the process of deep self-discovery so that we can uncover and address the factors contributing to your negative emotional experiences and suffering. Together we will understand and talk through the obstacles stopping you from living the life you would wish to lead.
